Submission Guidelines to Authors

Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

Preparation of manuscripts to be published in the Chokie Journal of Education and Behavioral Studies (CJEBS) should be done as per the guidelines outlined below. Authors are expected to carefully follow these instructions to ensure smooth processing of their submissions.

Quick Submission Checklist
Title Page: Includes title, authors, affiliations, and contact information
Abstract: Maximum 250 words with 4-6 keywords
Formatting: APA 7th Edition style for references
Structure: All required sections included (Introduction, Methods, Results, etc.)
Ethics: Proper acknowledgment and ethical considerations addressed

A. Title Page

  • The title, authors, and affiliations should all be included on a title page as the first page of the manuscript file.
  • The title (in bold) should be not more than 15 words and should be centered. The title should be concise and informative.
  • Include authors contact information as follows:
    • The name(s) of the author(s)
    • Complete institutional affiliation(s)
    • Department, University, City, Country
  • A clear indication and an active address of the corresponding author (institutions, postal address, telephone, e-mail etc. is required)

B. Abstract ≤250 words

  • The Abstract in one paragraph should come after the title page in the manuscript file.
  • The abstract should not exceed 250 words and should be arranged for original articles as:
    • Purpose of the study
    • Research Methods (study design/methods, sampling, instruments and analysis method)
    • Results (main research findings)
    • Conclusion(s) (the implications drawn)
  • 4 to 6 keywords should be listed below the abstract.

C. Introduction

  • The introduction should provide background that puts the manuscript into context and allows readers to understand the purpose and significance of the study.
  • Clearly define the problem being addressed.
  • Include key literature and controversies in the field to situate the research within existing scholarship.
  • State the research objectives or hypotheses clearly.

D. Methods

  • The methods section should provide enough detail to allow suitably skilled investigators to fully replicate the study.
  • Include specific information and/or protocols such as:
    • Research design and methodology
    • Sample characteristics and sampling procedures
    • Instruments and measurement tools
    • Data analysis methods
    • Research procedures
    • Ethical considerations and approvals

E. Results and Discussion

  • Authors should explain how the results relate to the objectives presented as the basis of the study.
  • Provide a succinct explanation of the implications of the findings.
  • Discuss findings in relation to previous related studies.
  • Highlight potential future directions for research based on the findings.
  • Present results clearly using appropriate tables and figures where necessary.

F. Conclusions

  • State the conclusion that can be drawn from the findings in a concise way possible.
  • Summarize the main findings and their significance.
  • Avoid introducing new information or data in the conclusion.
  • Highlight the practical implications of the research.

G. Acknowledgments

  • Those who contributed to the work but do not meet authorship criteria should be listed in the acknowledgments with a description of the contribution.
  • Authors are responsible for ensuring that anyone named in the acknowledgments agrees to be named.
  • Include funding sources and grant numbers if applicable.
  • Acknowledge any technical assistance or institutional support received.

H. Reference and Citation Style

  • CJEBS follows the APA reference style (7th Edition).
  • The list of references should only include works that are cited in the text and that have been published or accepted for publication.
  • The references should be alphabetized by first author's last name, publication year, and pagination where appropriate.
  • Each listing should follow latest American Psychological Association (APA) style 7th edition with respect to formatting, abbreviations, font size etc.
  • Do not cite unavailable and unpublished works, including manuscripts that have been submitted but not yet accepted.
Important Note: Authors are strongly encouraged to consult the latest APA Publication Manual (7th Edition) for detailed formatting guidelines and examples of reference entries.
